Chase the northern lights by camper and gather round the fire pit under the Arctic sky — or, come summer, sleep beneath the midnight sun in a traditional Sámi Lavvo. We operate out of Harstad/Narvik Airport Evenes (EVE), renting campers, campervans and motorhomes for Lofoten and the rest of Northern Norway, with free pick-up when you land.

Meet Aurora, our heated winter motorhome — named after the northern lights she is built to chase. Warm and cosy even in the polar night, with gas heating, electric heating and a diesel heater as backup. Watch autumn colours turn to dancing aurora, gather around the fire pit, and fall asleep to the Arctic quiet. A Dethleffs Bus III, easy to drive and ready for the cold. Kompis means buddy in Norwegian, and that is exactly what he is: a reliable travel companion tested down to −20°C, equipped with solar panel, inverter, gas cooking and airfryer. Experience the Arctic night like the indigenous peoples of the north have for centuries. Our modern Lavvo blends traditional craftsmanship with comfort — warm, atmospheric and perfectly placed to watch the midnight sun drift across the horizon, or the northern lights dance overhead.
Check-in and check-out is done at our camper parking, 35 minutes from the airport. We fetch you outside the terminal with a private car and take you back for your departure flight. We adjust to your flight schedule as much as possible.
Fly into Evenes, and we hand you the keys. From there, six regions are within reach — each with its own guide.
Harstad/Narvik Airport Evenes sits between Lofoten, Vesterålen and the Narvik mountains, with direct flights from Oslo. There is no rental desk to find and no queue to join. We meet you outside the terminal, drive you to the campervan, and go through the gas, heating, water and toilet with you until you are comfortable. Most handovers take about forty minutes. Nobody is rushing you out the door, because we are the owners and there is no next customer waiting behind a counter.
The honest answer is: less than you think, and that is the point. The E10 west towards Lofoten crosses bridges and runs along fjords that are worth stopping for every few kilometres, so a drive that looks like three hours on a map becomes a full day if you let it. Guests who try to see Lofoten, Vesterålen and Senja in five days spend most of that time behind the wheel. A week gives you Lofoten properly. Ten days lets you add one more island group without hurrying.
From late May to mid-July the sun does not set. You can hike at eleven at night and cook at two in the morning in full daylight, and campsites are open everywhere. From September to April the dark returns and with it the northern lights, often directly overhead. Winter travel needs the right vehicle rather than courage: Aurora has three-way heating and studded tyres, and we go through winter driving with you before you leave. Fewer campsites stay open, which is why we keep a list of the ones that do.
You see the full breakdown before you send anything — nightly rate, handover, bedding, towels and the optional fire pit — with no charges appearing at the end. Airport transfer to and from Evenes is included at no cost, both ways. We take booking requests rather than instant bookings, which means a person reads what you wrote and answers, usually the same day. If your dates do not work for the camper you picked, we will say so and suggest the one that does.
Insurance is included in the daily rate, so nothing is added for it later. We hold a refundable deposit of kr 6,900 during the rental, and it is returned to you at check-out.
They are the same word in Norwegian — bobil — and we rent both. Which one suits you depends on how many you are and whether you are travelling in the dark season.
